The concert premiere dudek carnival | an empty room, then smiling | from 14.08.2023 available for re-listening via the DLF Audiothek

Saxophonist and composer Fabian Dudek performed twice at Cologne Jazzweek 2023: With the premiere of his composition “Day By Day”, which he wrote for his Horst and Gretl Will Foundation Award Winners’ Concert, and with dudek carnival. An international line-up put together by Dudek especially for the Cologne Jazzweek, which corresponds to his idea of sound and artistic collaboration. ” Through the strength of the composition comes the freedom to play,” says Dudek. Giving his fellow musicians room to develop their individualistic spirit is particularly important to Dudek in all his compositional work. Dudek was commissioned to write this composition in cooperation between NICA artist development and Cologne Jazzweek.

A live recording of the concert is now available to listen to for 30 days in the DLF Audiothek.
