Theresia Philipp – seeds of sweat available to listen to on Deutschlandfunk

The concert premiere from 4th September 2024 will be broadcast on “Jazz Live” in November

As a part of the Cologne Jazzweek 2024, Theresia Philipp presented her new band seeds of sweat and gave the first performance of her compositions especially for this line up. Parts of the concert will be broadcast on Deutschlandfunk’s “Jazz Live” on 19th November 2024. The Cologne-based saxophonist, clarinettist and composer Philipp has brought individually strong musicians together and laid foundations down for a collaboration which does not care for supposed genre boundaries, and lives up to Philipp’s claim to be a political subject as an artist. Texts by Philipp herself and other authors, including Ber Alena, Koleka Putuma and Katja Hummel, emphasise this.

This concert premiere was made possible by the co-operation between NICA artist development and Cologne Jazzweek under the title ‘NICA exchange’.
