Felix Hauptmann SERPENTINE

Felix Hauptmann and his band SERPENTINE will be playing at the Stadtgarten on 24 January - Deutschlandfunk will be recording the show
The music of the SERPENTINE ensemble combines abstraction with beauty and explores the spectrum between chamber music reduction and the greatest possible density. The compositions by pianist, composer and NICA artist Felix Hauptmann show the range of tonal possibilities of this instrumentation and play with the ambivalence of rhythmic complexity with a constant pulse. The musicians create unique sound spaces framed by lyrical melodies.
Hauptmann appreciates the range of sonic possibilities offered by the chosen instrumentation and the playful diversity of his fellow musicians. Premiered in late summer 2024 at schwere reiter in Munich, SERPENTINE is essential to Hauptmann’s current artistic expression, alongside the trio PERCUSSION (feat. Roger Kintopf, Leif Berger) and a duo with pianist Kirke Karja.

Jorik Bergmann - flute

Samuel Mastorakis - vibraphone
Felix Hauptmann - piano, composition
