Congratulations to former NICA artists Rebekka Salomea & Luise Volkmann

Luise Volkmann and Rebekka Salomea win the German Jazz Award 2026

We would like to congratulate former NICA artists Rebekka Salomea and Luise Volkmann on their success. On 25 April, at this year’s German Jazz Award ceremony, the two musicians received both awards - one even in duplicate.

Luise Volkmann won the German Jazz Award twice in the categories “Large Ensemble of the Year” and “Radio Production of the Year” with her ensemble Été Large for their project The Stories We Tell.

Rebekka Salomea won the highly endowed prize in the “Artist of the Year” category with her project SALOMEA.

This year’s “Album of the Year” award went to bassist Phil Donkin for his project Bring A Friend, which featured current NICA artists Felix Hauptmann and Theresia Philipp. We also congratulate them on this successful collaboration!
